About Me

A vibrant, happy collection by Amber

*Me at the state fair of Texas on the ferris wheel overlooking Dallas Texas

In February 2015, I found myself snowed in and unable to go to work. Although I had a designated art room filled with supplies, I had never really picked up a paintbrush for any serious painting. On that snowy day, I resolved to spend my time painting. Later on, I enrolled in art classes and discovered a great deal about painting. I struggled with the fundamentals of oil painting, such as how to make the paint adhere properly. Painting, drawing, or engaging in art was not something I was naturally adept at, yet I felt a strong desire to learn. I enjoy reading and began to delve into numerous art books. These books have taught me a lot, and I treasure discovering new ones and learning about the struggles and triumphs of various artists. Art has become my personal form of meditation. As I sit at the canvas, my mind races. While painting, I typically listen to music to quiet my restless thoughts. If I can muster the patience to stick with my work, my mind eventually finds tranquility and joy, which makes me very content. Whenever I share a piece of my art, I often exclaim, "This brings me so much happiness!" To be honest, I've given away some of my finest works because I wish to share that joy with others.
